Audi’s Prologue family of concept cars has a new biggest brother. The third in the line that brought us the Prologue coupe at the L.A. auto show and the Prologue Avant wagon at the Geneva show, meet the newest member: the Prologue Allroad.-Look closely at that image above: It’s not black-and-white, but it might as well be. The Prologue Allroad wears a subtle hue of Dehua White, making the jacked-up wagon seem almost modest. It’s not, at least as far as power is concerned: Under that hood lies a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 with plug-in hybrid accompaniment, sending 724 horses…

-Well, that wasn’t exactly quick. Three years after first showing the A6L e-tron plug-in-hybrid concept at the 2012 Beijing auto show, Audi has finally taken the wraps off of the production model ahead of the 2015 Shanghai show. This Chinese-market, long-wheelbase plug-in hybrid may be tardy, but it’s expected to be fuel-thrifty and techy enough to qualify as a “New Energy Vehicle” in China.-Similar to the A3 e-tron, the A6L e-tron utilizes a turbocharged 2.o-liter four-cylinder engine, a disc-shaped electric motor, and an automatic transmission to power the front…

-When we recently reviewed the 2015 Audi A3 1.8T cabriolet, we concluded that its leather-lined, fashionably extroverted, dynamically adequate package made it the spiritual successor to the VW Cabriolets and E30 BMW 3-series convertibles that roamed college campuses at the behest of well-heeled coeds through the late 1980s and early ’90s. We’ve now strapped our test gear to the more powerful 2.0T version and discovered a slightly more grown-up side of the handsome droptop. Consider this the post-graduation A3 cabriolet. READ MORE ››-

Audi's marketing team has been on a creative roll lately. In case you missed it, they came out with this humorous video for April Fool's Day...I actually thought this chair was real until halfway through the video, although I wouldn't put it past Audi to create a chair that can predict when I need a coffee. Matthew Marchak, CEO/president of The Eighth Floor, said this about the video: “Luxury brands are often positioned in a very serious, “stuffy” light, which can sometimes alienate them from some key consumer audiences. By incorporating a “spoof” on their own cutting edge…

We often equate a SUV with function and utility. It's just a vehicle that can tow cargo around. But what if a SUV could provide all that and be fun to drive? Well, Audi has one in its collection: The SQ5. This model was recently added to KBB's (Kelly Blue Book) 10 most fun SUVs list. Consumers who visited KBB.com also gave the SQ5 a 9.5 out of 10 rating."With the SQ5, you get the smooth-yet-responsive handling and fantastic power delivery of one of Audi's sport sedans, with the cargo volume and versatility of the Q5 compact luxury SUV." --KBB.comI personally haven't driven the SQ5 yet, but…

  • Audi and Peugeot both launched few sports prototype programs this year

Things are rarely the way they seem in motorsports. Take a quick glance at the 2011 Peugeot 908 LMP1 turbodiesel, and you might conclude that it’s a revised version of the original car of that name. Look at the dramatic-looking new Audi R18 coupe, and you could be forgiven for jumping to the conclusion that it has nothing to do with its open-top predecessor. Fair assumptions about the two manufacturers’ Le Mans 24 Hours challengers, but ultimately incorrect. The truth is that, aerodynamically at least, Peugeot’s latest coupe owes no more to its predecessor than the R18…

One of the hottest trends in the auto market for the last year or two has been crossfunctional vehicles — often called hybrids — that combine elements of the classic sport-utility vehicle with the passenger car. These forays into new territory range from the Acura MDX, which is more reminiscent of the traditional SUV, to the wagon-based Audi Allroad, both new for 2001. The Allroad follows the same basic formula that is applied to this segment as the Volvo Cross Country. That is to take a luxurious but sporty European wagon and install all-wheel-drive and other amenities. These…

The Audi A6 is a beautifully designed and crafted automobile that should be ranked in the top echelon of luxury sports sedans. In the high-performance 2.7T version, the A6 is a reminder of Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire — unmatched taste and style combine with effortless athleticism. I hadn’t been behind the wheel of the Audi A6 in several years. The redesigned A6 that was introduced a few years ago had an under-performing V-6 engine that didn’t do the chassis or the owner my favors. But the sporty A6 2.7T bolts dual turbochargers on to a V-6 engine and, when equipped with…

  • 2017 Audi S4 Spied at Nurburgring

    Eduard Huma
    24 Apr 2015 | 3:11 am
Audi is planning the introduction of the new-gen Audi A4, which means that the entire fleet will receive a new version, and I am talking here about the A4 Avant, the A4 Allroad, the S4 as well as the RS4. The upcoming 2017 Audi S4 has been caught on shots while performing some last tests at Nurburgring. Sine we are talking here about a test mule, we do now have sufficient information concerning the modifications carried out at the body style, but we should presume instead that the future A4 would stand on the same MLB Evo platform, underpinning other future models, like the 2016 Audi A7 SUV.

Audi is hell of a fighter in the United States, consolidating its position by launching different high-end models overseas. It is also the case of the 2016 Audi A6 and A7 which arrived in North America with some interesting offers in terms of pricing. First off, the two models come with more competitive offers than its direct competitors, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, pricing the entry-level A6 at just $46,200, while the A7 is sold at $68,300. This would be just enough to have the 2016 Audi A6 with 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI engine, developing 252 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque, for a front-wheel…

The Audi TT RS itself is not a slow model but that’s not an excuse for a tuning company such as mcchip-dkr to it. The previous-generation of the German model gets an important package from the tuning specialists, the main focus being put on performance.
